Congratulations to 13 high school band students who were selected to perform last night at the NICL Conference Honor Band at Applingtion-Parkersburg High School last night. They spent an entire day rehearsing with students from 6 other schools, and performed an awesome concert in the evening.

During Fire Prevention Week, Durant students learned all about Operation E.D.I.T.H. They were also given the opportunity to be entered into a drawing by discussing an escape route and plan with their families in case of an emergency. This week names were drawn for winners of the Operation E.D.I.T.H. Plan. Those students got to ride to school in a SVFD fire truck!

NICL Vocal Festival Monday at 7 PM
Thank you to our very own Mrs. Hampton for talking to FES classes about her service. This provided a personal connection for our 3rd and 4th grade students prior to going to the Veterans Day Program at the Middle School. 3rd and 4th grade students also made cards to thank Mrs. Hampton for her service. FES would like to thank all the Veterans for their service.
Huge shout out to our AmVet Post 90 Veterans and all Veterans today! Thank you for attending our program and for your service to our country. Thank you to our school for fundraising over $1000 to go to Retrieving Freedom in Waverly that helps Veterans get a service dog.
Durant students had some special guests for High Five Friday! We are very thankful for our Veteran’s.
The SFMS had a spectacular Veteran's Day presentation. The kids had fun, were very well behaved, and learned a lot about respect, and support for our veterans.
