FES students earned a Cougar Way Reward today. The only person who was able to guess it before all the letters were revealed was Mrs. Boltz, so this one was tricky for the students to solve. Fourth-Graders are showing off their "Popcorn Hand."

Thank you to the Cougar Betterment Foundation and an anonymous donor for paying for the pep bus for our student fans to attend this Friday nights football game in Manson and the State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge tomorrow. Our students are lucky to have such fantastic support.

FES would like to congratulate the October Star Cougars for showing the Cougar Way every day! Keep up the great work!

FES has been focusing on the RESPECT pillar this month. In the skit today at the Cougar Way Assembly, Scarecrow said she felt like she didn't have a brain when it came to math class. The Bad Witches were making fun of Scarecrow since she didn't know how to do the math problem. The Good Witches were telling Dorothy to be respectful and help Scarecrow. Then, the witches remembered that it was Halloween, so they performed a Witches' Dance. The paras dressed as the Yellow Brick Road. We also celebrated October birthdays.

FES had its October Cougar Way Assembly today. There was a Halloween Parade where students had the opportunity to strike a pose on a stage with a spotlight to show off their Halloween costumes. Mrs. Harkrader modeled how to do it.

The Preschool classes at FES walked through each classroom to show off their costumes today. FES wishes everyone a SAFE and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Water Rocks! from IA State came to Mrs. Rucker’s 7th and 8th grade classes today and presented in Pollinators. Students learned the importance of bees, wasps, birds, butterflies and others in food production.

The students learned all about the life cycle of a pig, nutrients in pork, cuts of pork, and by-products of pigs. The students were able to pet the pig and got to enjoy a pork stick as a snack!
