The Jensen Family gave the book, Just Like Caitlin, to every second-grader in the state of Iowa today. This book tells Caitlin Clark's story and includes many important life lessons like dreaming big, working hard, and valuing relationships over winning. Dickson and Luann Jensen are proud Iowans, business owners, coaches, parents, and grandparents. They are proud of Caitlin Clark and believe she is a great role model for all kids. Because of their love for children and desire to impact the next generation, they hope this book inspires kids to believe their future can be greater than they imagine. FES second-graders posed for a picture at the 3-point line to be just like Caitlin. They returned to their classroom, and Miss Henniges read the story to them.

Congrats to Kelsie Hammond and Jasper Davidson for the "Above & Beyond" recognitions at the S-F Board Meeting on Monday evening. Ms. Hammond was recognized for her leadership with professional development activities, for organizing and leading the FES Cougar Way assemblies, and for all of her work tracking, documenting, and collaborating with her colleagues to provide literacy interventions and supports for students. Mr. Davidson was recognized for his hard work and diligence in responding to the needs of all staff members at S-F HS. Jasper comes in at all hours to set up and tear down events, locking & unlocking doors, covering areas of the building for his colleagues, and doing so just because the work needs to get done. We're grateful for all the work you do to make S-F work!

For high five Friday we had some very special guests. With Veterans Day on Monday we invited SSG Garrett Nix, SSG Eldon Naone, SFC Justin Smith, and SGT Whitney Smith. Not only did they give high fives, they also brought a Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle to show the kids. Students got to ask questions and learn a few things about the vehicle and the army. Thank you to all Veterans for your service!

Kindergarteners at FES celebrated 50 days of school today. Mrs. Harkrader came dressed as a Pink Lady with a Fabulous Fifties shirt and had the room decorated in a 50s theme. The students did activities centered on the number 50 and listened to music from that decade...they even learned the Hand Jive! The day was topped off with Root Beer Floats. Thank you, Mrs. Harkrader, for being a rockin' Kindergarten teacher!
