FES third-graders studied the three branches of government and our Constitution. In learning about the voting process, they had a mock presidential election. They invited second grade and fourth grade to also vote. The results were as follows...Donald Trump 45 and Kamala Harris 17. Mrs. Boltz told all who came to vote, "No matter who wins or who we vote for, we all still RESPECT each other afterwards." Great advice for all of us...(cue I'm Proud to be an American music). This was also a good tie in to the RESPECT character pillar that we are focusing on this month.

Cougar Nation, it’s time to rally!
Let’s send off our football team in style. Plan to gather Friday at 3p in the High School parking lot to wish our Cougar players and coaches goodluck as they travel to Dyersville for first round of playoffs. Send-off at 3:30p.
Kickoff at 7p.
Let’s go Cougars!

Yesterday, FES went to the high school for a pep rally to get our teams fired up for postseason competition. Students loved shouting out by grade, "V-I-C-T-O-R-Y...that's our Cougar battle cry!" The FES trio of Schmitz, Njus, and Hammond came out victorious in the Minute to Win It challenge of being the first team to use a whole roll of toilet paper to create a T.P. Mummy. FES wishes all the best to our high school teams...Power comes from the UNITY of the pack...may the COUGAR PACK be mighty!

Reminder MS winter activities meeting tonight in the main gym at 6pm.

"There's No Place Like...Fredericksburg Elementary!" This was the idea Mrs. Hammond had for a shirt design for all FES staff and students to go along with our Wizard of Oz theme this year. She partnered with our awesome art teacher, Mrs. Owen, who used her graphic design skills to make this idea come to life. A huge thank you to Mrs. Owen! When we handed out the shirts today, a third-grade student said, "This shirt makes us feel like a family." Yes, indeed, FES is a family.
